North Dakota’s Pomeroy Seeking 9th Term as Congressman

April 7, 2008

Earl Pomeroy has the blessing of North Dakota’s Democratic convention delegates to run for his ninth term in the U.S. House.

Delegates are endorsing several candidates for statewide office during their weekend convention in Grand Forks.

Pomeroy is a former North Dakota state legislator and insurance commissioner. He was first elected to the U.S. House in 1992. He’s 55 years old.

He didn’t have any opposition for the Democratic endorsement.

Pomeroy will be running for the second time against Republican Duane Sand. Pomeroy got 60 percent of the vote against Sand in 2004.
