Grange Insurance recently added Michelle Benz as president of the Grange Life Insurance Company. She replaces Tom Welch, previous president of Grange Life who was promoted to chief financial officer of Grange Insurance in April. Welch had been leading Grange Life since that announcement on an interim basis until his replacement could be found.
In this role, Benz will be responsible for leading all Grange Life Insurance operations, including product development, marketing and sales. Grange Life Insurance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Grange Mutual Casualty Company, is designed primarily to provide life insurance products through Grange Insurance’s independent agent partners.
Benz joins Grange after spending most of her career with Nationwide Financial, the last four years as vice president, business development, individual protection. Prior to that position, she was vice president of product management responsible for product development, strategy and support for annuity products, life products, retirement plans and advisory services.
Grange Mutual Casualty Group, based in Columbus, Ohio, operates through its network of independent agents. The company offers auto, home, life, business and farm insurance. Grange operates in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin.
