Agents’ Licenses Revoked in Ohio

Ohio Lieutenant Governor and Department of Insurance Director Mary Taylor has revoked the insurance licenses of several resident and non-resident agents. The following revocations became effective on June 27:

• The resident insurance agent license of Troy Tripp, of Litchfield, Ohio. A department hearing was held on July 13, 2010, regarding a felony conviction for Tripp. He was assessed a civil penalty of $1,500 and $1,500 in administrative costs at the hearing. Tripp failed to make payments as required by the order. Ohio insurance law allows the Director to revoke an insurance agent’s license for violating or failure to comply with any order of the director.
• The non-resident insurance agent license of James Hardesty, of Taylor, S.C. A department review revealed that around April 15, 2010, the state of South Carolina revoked Hardesty’s home state insurance license. Ohio insurance law allows the Director to revoke an agent’s Ohio insurance license for having their license revoked in any other state.
• The resident insurance agent license of Naron M. Pollard, of Cleveland, Ohio, now residing in Waymart, Pa. A department review revealed that around March 16, 2011, Pollard was convicted of conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine-based-crack, a felony.
• The non-resident insurance agent license of Winslow B. Wheeler, of St. John, Fla. A department review revealed that around Nov. 8, 2010, Wheeler pled guilty to mail fraud, a felony.
