MJ Insurance Named a ‘Best Practices Agency’ for 9th Consecutive Year

October 9, 2012

For the ninth consecutive year, MJ Insurance, a property/casualty and employee benefits agency headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., has earned “Best Practices Agency” status from the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA).

This year concludes the current three-year study cycle in which more than 1,200 independent agencies throughout the U.S. were nominated to participate. To be chosen, the agency had to be among the 35 to 40 top-performing agencies in one of six revenue categories. Only 224 agencies qualified for the honor.

MJ was included in the $10 million to $25 million revenue category.

The Best Practices Study was initiated by IIABA in 1993 as the foundation for efforts to improve agency performance. The annual survey and study of leading independent insurance agencies document the business practices of the “best” agencies and urges others to adopt similar practices.

MJ Insurance, founded in 1964, has offices in Indiana and Arizona, and specializes in a diverse selection of unique service lines including construction, energy, transportation, real estate, manufacturing, sororities and mining. MJ also offers complete employee benefits programs including major medical, group disability, group life and onsite employer clinics. MJ Insurance currently has clients in 16 countries and in every U.S. state.
