Cleveland, Ohio-based CBIZ Inc., a provider of employee benefits and insurance advisory services, has appointed Jim O’Connor national practice leader for employee benefits.
O’Connor previously served as managing director and executive vice president of CBIZ’s New Jersey and New York employee benefits practice. In his new role, he will focus his responsibilities on the continued growth and development of the employee benefits unit across the country.
His predecessor, Bonnie Evelyn, resigned from the post effective July 1 but will continue working with CBIZ as an independent consultant. Under Evelyn’s leadership, CBIZ achieved great success in the employee benefits services division, growing revenue over 15 percent during recent years in an unstable economic and industry environment.
O’Connor has more than 25 years of experience in the employee benefits industry. Prior to forming EAO Benefits in 2004 and joining CBIZ via acquisition in 2009, O’Connor served as executive vice president of Bank of America’s employee benefits and commercial insurance division and president of Meeker Sharkey Benefits, an employee benefits brokerage/consulting firm focused on middle-market and large employers.
