Dubuque, Iowa, police and fire department officials say they are investigating two vehicle fires as arson.
The Dubuque Telegraph Herald reportsthat the fires were reported before dawn on Oct. 23 in a parking lot.
Dubuque Fire Marshal Mark Burkle says one vehicle was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived. He says as crews extinguished that blaze, firefighters noticed a second vehicle in the lot had smoke coming from it and found its back seat on fire.
Burkle says investigators have sent samples from the vehicles to a crime lab in Ames.
