Luketic Named Director of Government Relations at Root Insurance

Columbus, Ohio-based automobile insurance provider, Root Insurance, has named Dave Luketic director of Government Affairs for the company.

Luketic will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of the company’s government relationships, including political affairs and public policy with U.S. federal, state and local governments; as well as developing grassroot advocacy campaigns.

He comes to Root after spending two years as the campaign manager for Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.

Luketic will be responsible for leading Root’s government and regulatory affairs strategy. He will work in tandem with Root’s leadership team to identify additional business opportunities that leverage the company’s disruptive, technology-focused and consumer-oriented mission.

An Ohio native, Luketic brings more than a decade of regarded experience in politics to this role. Before managing the DeWine-Husted campaign in Ohio, Luketic managed significant campaign operations under former Gov. John Kasich as political chief for the Super PAC that backed Kasich’s 2016 presidential bid. He also served as political director for Kasich’s 2014 historical gubernatorial re-election campaign and for the Ohio Republican Party in 2012 and 2013.

Before working with Governor Kasich, Luketic served as political director for the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County in Cleveland,
