McGriff, Siebels & Williams Expands in Midwest, Opens Kansas City Office

Specialty insurance broker McGriff, Siebels & Williams (McGriff) has launched an office in Kansas City led by industry experts Stacy Spurgeon, Paula Brennan and Vicky Owens.

The team will tackle the new challenges facing transportation companies around compliance, insurance and risk management related to the utilization of contractors.

Spurgeon, vice president, comes to McGriff from Avant Brokerage where she worked for the past eighteen years, most recently as vice president of the Kansas City and Jacksonville offices where she managed the service and marketing teams. She has extensive experience insuring independent contractors honed during the ten years she was working with the transportation group of Arthur J. Gallagher. She has been in the transportation insurance industry for over 28 years.

Owens, account executive, comes to McGriff from Specialty Risk Inc., the transportation group of Arthur J. Gallagher and Avant Brokerage LLC where she was marketing executive. With 32 years of insurance experience as a broker, risk manager, litigation manager and claims supervisor, Owens’ expertise lies in transportation insurance with a focus on independent contractor coverage.

Brennan has been hired as assistant vice president. She comes with 18 years of experience in accounting, administration and management of a transportation insurance wholesaler that specializes in independent contractors. Brennan’s expertise includes insurance operations, accounting, office administration, surplus tax reporting, and information systems.
