Burns & Wilcox, Pro Golfers Simpson and Walker Donate $50K to 2 Charities

February 6, 2020

Insurance wholesale broker and underwriting manager Burns & Wilcox has partnered with its PGA golf brand ambassadors, pro golfers Webb Simpson and Jimmy Walker, to donate $50,000 to two charities.

The donations are a result of Champions & Charities, one of the company’s signature philanthropic initiatives launched in 2018.

Selected as their charities of choice, Simpson helped Burns & Wilcox present a $25,000 check to Team Fox, the grassroots fundraising community of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, and Walker assisted in the presentation of a $25,000 check to Global Lyme Alliance.

The company’s sponsorship with Walker began in 2016 and expanded to include Simpson in 2017. Walker wears the Burns & Wilcox logo on the right side of his golf shirt and Simpson showcases the logo on the left side of his golf shirt. The company logo is also featured on their respective caddies.

The brand ambassadors share the company’s core values of integrity, hard work, competitiveness and professionalism, aligning with the Burns & Wilcox company culture.

Simpson on Feb. 2 won the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale, Arizona, claiming his sixth PGA Tour victory.

In addition to the $50,000 donation to Team Fox and Global Lyme Alliance, the Burns & Wilcox Champions & Charities initiative extends to other organizations in partnership with brand ambassadors and associates across the company network.
