The Kansas Insurance Department reports that the agency has implemented alternative working arrangements for its staff, and that there will potentially be delays in processing license applications and company filing approvals.
The KID also said it has suspended “all regulatory statutes in Chapter 40, that govern the regulation of insurance, that include a ‘deemed approved’ clause.”
The department said it is not suspending prompt pay statutes and expects insurance companies to pay claims promptly in accordance with normal procedures.
While the department will continue to evaluate its operations, it will suspend non-essential operations beginning March 23 until at least April 6.
