People Moves: McNally President of Amynta Dealer Solutions; New Officers at Michigan PIA; PIAW Award Winners

McNally Named President of Amynta Dealer Solutions

Amynta Group, a provider of property/casualty and warranty protection products and services, hired Edward McNally as president of Amynta Dealer Solutions. He is based in Overland Park, Kansas.

McNally brings more than 15 years of underwriting and leadership experience to Amynta. He joins from Lockton Affinity where he served as chief underwriting officer, responsible for providing leadership to large, delegated underwriting portfolios across multiple specialty, commercial and personal line verticals. Previously, McNally held various underwriting leadership roles at CNA Insurance.

Amynta Dealer Solutions provides property/casualty coverages for franchised auto dealers and independent dealers nationwide. McNally will be responsible for leading the program, managing a team of experienced underwriters, agency managers and claim leaders to execute specialized underwriting strategies focused on property and casualty solutions across the auto dealer market.

Michigan PIA Installs New Officers

The Michigan Professional Insurance Agents Association (MIPIA) elected new officers for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.

Scott Shappee, of The Insurance Center of Monroe in Monroe, is the newly elected president.

Gregory Schafer of Schafer Agency assumes the vice president position, Nicole Rant of Lake Michigan Insurance Agency takes on the treasurer/secretary position and Erin Dey of Agency Insurance & Financial Services in Portage is national director.

Jeremy MacDonald of Mid-Michigan Agency in Alma, Mark Swieczkowski of Swiss Insurance Group in Oxford, Dominic Giancola of Custom Insurance Agency in Shelby Township, and Todd Iannarelli of CG Insurance Agency in Williamston round out the board of directors.

The board recently added Terri Bettinger to the staff as executive director. Lynn Szefi continues as executive vice president.

The MIPIA is the state affiliate of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents, which represents independent agencies across the country.

PIAW Names Award Winners

At its recent annual convention, the Professional Insurance Agents of Wisconsin honored Brian MacGillis with MacGillis Agency Inc. in Fredonia with its Ron Von Haden Agent of the Year Award.

Recently renamed the “Ron Von Haden Agent of the Year Award,” the award is given to an agent who exhibits extraordinary dedication to the insurance industry, independent agents and the PIAW, like the awards namesake.

MacGillis is a past president of PIAW and remains involved with the board and committees. He is the agency president and owner specializing in commercial and personal lines insurance at MacGillis Insurance Agency.

The Stony Steinbach Achievement Award was awarded to Sean Paterson of Robertson Ryan & Associates in Waukesha. It is given to a PIAW member who puts forth the energy, efficiency, and enthusiasm of the award’s namesake, who led PIA for 40 years.

Paterson has served on many PIAW committees, sat on the board of directors for the past six years, and served as president during the difficult transitions following March 2020.

Casey Flood of Society Insurance in Fond du Lac was named Company Representative of the Year. The award honors a company representative that shows outstanding dedication to the insurance industry and support for PIAW.

Flood is regional sales manager for Southeast Wisconsin for Society Insurance and has gained a reputation as dependable, knowledgeable, and genuine among PIA leaders.
