Ohio Department of Insurance Office of Legal Services Restructured, Fitch Named Chief Legal Officer
Ohio Department of Insurance has promoted several employees in the department’s Office of Legal Services, including naming Whitney Fitch as chief legal officer.
Fitch, who joined the Columbus-based department in 2014, previously served as a staff attorney, assistant general counsel, and most recently, interim general counsel.
Sean Sheridan and Dan Bradford both have been promoted to the new positions of assistant general counsel. Sheridan and Bradford joined the department in 2015 and 2018, respectively, and previously served as staff attorneys.
The Office of Legal Services will now oversee the department’s Market Conduct Division and Fraud and Enforcement Division. Todd Oberholtzer, the department’s chief compliance counsel, oversees these divisions and will now also oversee the legal support for the department’s administrative cases associated with the work of these divisions.
North Dakota’s Jon Godfread Elected Vice President of NAIC
North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Jon Godfread was elected Vice President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) for 2023 during its National Fall Meeting in Tampa.
Godfread was elected Vice President after serving as Secretary-Treasurer in 2022.
fficers of the NAIC lead the organization’s priorities and represent the organization to industry groups and international regulators.
