New CPCU Society Certificate To Be Debuted In Las Vegas

February 3, 2000

The CPCU Society will debut the National Leadership Institute (NLI), June 8-10, in Las Vegas, NV. It is a new program providing leadership skills training to enhance professional and personal development. By participating in the career-building seminars, attendees gain valuable leadership skills and earn credit toward the NLI Certificate of Completion.

This certificate will be awarded to attendees who complete four core courses, recognizing their commitment to leadership principles, professional and personal development, and their desire to be effective leaders in their personal and professional lives.

Beginning in 2000, the core courses will be offered each June at the NLI and each fall in conjunction with the CPCU Society Annual Meeting. In 2001 and subsequent years, core courses will be offered at CPCU’s mid-year meeting as well. Certificates will be awarded in a recognition ceremony at the NLI each spring, with the first ceremony planned for spring 2001. The NLI is open to all business and insurance professionals.

The inaugural session of the NLI will kick off with the seminar Developing Resilience in a Rapidly Changing World, on Thursday, June 8. This seminar will focus on personal resilience. This program will help attendees acquire skills to manage change by demonstrating the relationship between personal resilience and meeting performance expectations.

On Friday, June 9, participants will have their choice of three all-day seminars: Facilitative Leadership Skills, Practical Techniques for Project Management, or Effective Communication Skills. Each of these seminars will help participants develop the crucial skill sets that are necessary to get ahead and prosper in the business marketplace of tomorrow.
