CIGNA, Answer Financial Enter Marketing Agreement

CIGNA Group Insurance has aligned with Answer Financial, a privately owned developer of a financial services portal, to offer a 24-hour desktop insurance and financial services supermarket to company consumers nationwide.

The alliance allows CIGNA Group and Answer Financial to offer access to and choice of products and services carefully selected as best-in-class.

The “bricks and clicks” alliance responds to rapidly converging marketplace trends, according to CIGNA Group Insurance President John K. Leonard. He cited six trends that CIGNA Group and Answer Financial have been analyzing and are now acting on through this alliance: Firms and affinity groups vigorously compete to attract and retain employees and membership; an increasingly diverse workforce demands increasingly diverse benefits; successful organizations do everything they can to increase personal and workplace productivity; technology pushes insurers to focus on what they do best and ally with others to offer everything else; technology encourages consumers to expect access to information, product choice, purchase options and value comparisons at their fingertips; and e-commerce will grow dramatically but will rely heavily on sales of fairly traditional products.
