IVANS Teams with Applied Systems, Microsoft

IVANS Inc. and Applied Systems Inc. have formed a joint venture for the purpose of a consolidated communication infrastructure for the insurance industry. The joint venture is designed to deliver a new industry communication infrastructure, offering communication and collaboration between all participants in the insurance transaction.

The basis of the new communication infrastructure is a new data exchange that combines the knowledge and technologies of IVANS and Applied Systems to provide products and services for efficient and cost effective end-to-end communication, collaboration and aggregation for agency, company and third party transactions.

The new data exchange will provide universal communication tools assisting companies, and their partners, in the communication of industry standard ACORD transactions. This will be an exchange that will be open to all vendors and open for all agency-company interface. The joint venture will also collaborate on universal communication engines for agencies and companies.

IVANS has also entered into an alliance with Microsoft to jointly address several areas of industry operations and communications.

The alliance will include naming IVANS as a managed Microsoft Partner and working together in the areas of application development, next-generation agency-company interface, Internet applications consulting and hosting, report generation services and other initiatives using Microsoft development tools and platforms, including the new Microsoft.NET initiative. Microsoft will also begin making regular contributions to IVANS customer communications and conferences.
