OPTIS Partners Formed to Help Agencies and Insurers Optimize Performance and Financial Results

OPTIS Partners, LLC, a consulting firm that works with agencies, brokers and insurers to optimize performance and financial results, has been formed by four of the industry’s most experienced senior consultants.

Based in Chicago, OPTIS Partners offers the insurance distribution system broad consulting services, including agency valuations, mergers and acquisitions, organizational strategy and structure, workflow and process improvement, quality and technical reviews, and producer recruitment and development.

It serves clients nationally, focusing on middle-market and larger agents and brokers, insurers and financial institutions. The firm also has offices in Minneapolis and Kansas City, Mo.

Principals are Timothy J. Cunningham, John K. Rauschenberger, Gordon R. Cook, and Steven E. Germundson.

“By bringing together senior consultants with different specialties, OPTIS offers clients a cohesive approach to meeting their toughest challenges,” Cunningham said.

Cunningham specializes in valuations, strategic analysis and planning, compensation review and development, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning and business-process improvement. He has conducted many seminars and workshops for insurers and industry trade groups nationally and has served as an expert witness. A former brokerage executive, he was a principal with national consulting firms IMCG and Hales & Associates.

Rauschenberger specializes in sales, sales management and recruiting and developing top producers. Most recently president of Rauschenberger/Mayer, Inc., a national agency-consulting firm, he has served as a senior executive with three independent agencies in Washington, D.C, Chicago and Milwaukee. He is a former college teacher, college football coach and executive with State Farm Insurance Companies.

Cook specializes in specialty insurance captives, organizational and operational improvement, and business and financial analysis. Previously a principal with IMCG, he has held senior financial positions with an insurance carrier and The Woodsmall Companies, a large national broker/TPA now a part of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. He was also with a Big Five accounting firm, serving national insurance clients.

Germundson specializes in business valuations, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, and operations consulting. He is also an expert in errors & omissions loss-control and quality-management programs. Most recently president of The Germundson Company, he co-founded an independent insurance agency and served as its CFO and director of acquisitions. Previously, he was a principal with Hales & Associates.
