InVEST Seeking Silent Auction Donations

April 12, 2002

InVEST, an education program to strengthen the insurance industry by attracting a large pool of qualified recruits, is seeking items for its annual “Silent Auction” being held Sept. 21-22, 2002 in conjunction with the Independent Insurance Agents of America’s New Orleans InfoXchange.

“Donating to the silent auction demonstrates a commitment to the community and to the insurance industry,” InVEST Chairman Jim Armitage commented. “We are pleased with the number of generous donations received thus far, and we would like to see this momentum continue. We can only succeed and advance the program with help from others who are passionate about securing the future of the industry.”

InVEST is a 501(c) 3 trust, and a tax-advantaged vehicle to support education about the insurance and risk management industry. InVEST students in high schools and community colleges are trained in insurance agency and company operations, exposed to the many insurance careers available, and encouraged to pursue careers in the insurance industry. More than 6,000 students in 25 states annually participate in InVEST, and support of the InVEST Silent Auction helps to secure the future of the industry.

Auction items vary widely and range from fine dining and vacation getaways, to technological tools and sports memorabilia and events. Proceeds from the auction go directly to supporting existing programs, training new teachers, and accelerating the opening of new programs across the country.

Deadline for donations is May 24. For more information about the InVEST Silent Auction, or to obtain a contribution form, send an e-mail to lmularksi@iiaa.net.
