Zurich Surety Express Online Platform Rolls Out in 12 States

August 29, 2002

Zurich North America Surety announced that it has successfully completed the pilot stage of its Zurich Surety Express(TM) online platform, which allows insurance agents to rate, quote and issue commercial and contract surety bonds directly from the Zurich Web site (www.zurichna.com).

Agents in 12 states, including Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Missouri and Illinois, now have access to Zurich Surety Express as part of the platform’s nationwide roll out, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

“The responses we received from the agents testing Zurich Surety Express in our pilot program were overwhelmingly positive,” said Bill Cheatham, president of Zurich North America Surety. “Technology is the real hero here, effectively removing inefficiencies and streamlining the surety bond process from hours to less than five minutes. By going online, agents can provide bonds faster and easier than ever before – and in a way that lowers their cost of doing business.”
Zurich Surety Express provides agents with a ‘single-touch’ system that uses advanced Internet technology to simplify underwriting and distribution. By automating much of the traditional surety bond process, speed and accuracy are greatly improved for both distributors and Zurich’s underwriting staff. Later this year, Zurich Surety Express will feature an XML capability that will facilitate integration with the legacy systems of larger agents and brokers.
