InsWeb Launches National Lead Generation Program

September 27, 2005

InsWeb Corp. announced the launch of AgentInsider, its new local agent lead generation program. InsWeb says the AgentInsider program will extend the reach of local agents by providing a cost effective way to connect with the millions of online consumers shopping for auto and homeowners insurance coverage at InsWeb site.

“The launch of AgentInsider broadens our distribution model and is a significant milestone in fulfilling our vision of becoming the most comprehensive insurance marketplace for consumers, agents and carriers,” said Hussein Enan, chairman and CEO of InsWeb. “No online entity provides leads to both agents and carriers on a scale equal to InsWeb. Equally important, the AgentInsider service completes the experience for the large number of consumers who choose to initiate the insurance shopping process online but are interested in finalizing the sale directly with a local agent.”

AgentInsider provides agents with flexibility and control over the types, quantity, geographical locations and price of high quality leads. This year more than four million consumers will start an application at InsWeb’s insurance marketplace. Comprehensive data collected from InsWeb’s insurance quote request form is delivered to agents in real time.

AgentInsider enables agents to set the price they are willing to pay for leads through a proprietary bidding system. The distribution of leads is always limited to a maximum of four local agents and never more than one agent from the same carrier affiliation. AgentInsider is will provide agent contact information online directly to the consumer at the time of application, increasing the opportunities available to both parties for closing a policy.

As of today, more than 650 agents have registered and are approved to participate, with more than 450 actively bidding in the program at www.agentinsider.com.

“We are very pleased with the initial response to our AgentInsider offering from independent agents as well as insurance companies signing up to promote and sponsor the program for their agents, including MetLife Auto & Home,” said Will Phelps, vice president of the AgentInsider. “We are aggressively working to increase the number of agents and sponsoring insurance companies and believe this program will have a significant positive impact on the way agents and consumers interact going forward.”
