Best Upgrades Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance, ANI-RRG to A-

The Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance, Risk Retention Group (ANI-RRG) has been upgraded from a B++ (Very Good) to an A- (Excellent) rating from A.M. Best. The rating applies to ANI-RRG and the National Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance (NANI).

ANI-RRG is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit company that provides liability insurance to 501(c)(3) nonprofits in 18 states and DC. ANI-RRG started writing business in September 2001 and currently insures more than 1,500 nonprofits. NANI is a 501(c)(3) captive reinsurer. Both companies are part of the Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group.

The Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group consist of four companies, ANI-RRG, NANI, Alliance Member Services (AMS) a 501(c)(3) management support organization and the Nonprofits’ Insurance Alliance of California (NIAC). ANI-RRG is modeled after NIAC which was founded in 1989 and provides the same products and services to nonprofits in California and currently insures more than 5,000 nonprofits. NIAC is rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best.

According to A.M. Best, “The rating recognizes the group’s excellent capitalization and operating performance, strong management, and effective niche market strategy. It also considers the companies’ strategic roles and the benefits they derive as part of the Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group”.
