Bankers Insurance Association Elects New Leaders

The American Bankers Insurance Association elected 11 new members to its board of directors and new officers during the association’s annual conference this week in Washington.

ABIA’s mission is to develop policy and provide advocacy for banks in insurance and support bank-insurance operations through research, education, compliance assistance and peer-group opportunities. A separately chartered affiliate of the American Bankers Association, the ABIA represents bank-insurance interests in Washington.

Newly elected members of the ABIA board are:
Thomas Anderson, president, BW Insurance Agency, Fargo, N.D.
Anthony Curti, director of insurance services, LaSalle Bank Corporation, Sterling Heights, Mich.
Paul Petrylak, president, CIT Global Insurance Services, New York City.
John J. Queirolo, president, Webster Insurance, Meriden, Conn.
Chris Roth, vice president and general manager, Hancock Insurance Agency, Bay St. Louis, Miss.
Myrna Solomon, bank channel head, MetLife Investors, Boston.
Jeff Chesky, group president, Insurance Agency Solutions Group, ProfitStars, Granby, Conn.
D. David Cissell, executive vice president, American Modern Insurance Group, Palm Desert, Calif.
Michael L. Owens, president and CEO, Coverdell, Atlanta.
Dean A. Purvis, senior vice president, Aegon Direct Marketing Services, Charlotte, N.C.
Bradley L. Barrett, president, Tennessee Bankers Association, Nashville.

In addition, the ABIA board of directors, convening immediately after its conference, elected these officers:
