Surety & Fidelity Association Elects Chubb’s Vispoli as Chair

The Surety & Fidelity Association of America has elected Tracey Vispoli, senior vice president, Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, as chair of the board for 2011-2012.

Vispoli is the global manager for Chubb’s financial fidelity insurance business. Under her management, Chubb said it has become the number one writer of this product in North America. She is the first female and the first fidelity representative to chair SFAA’s board.

Timothy Mikolajewski, president, Liberty Mutual Surety, was elected as vice chair of the board. He has been in the surety business since 1984 when he started his career with Safeco. He was the chief bonding officer for Safeco when Liberty Mutual acquired Safeco.

Also elected to the SFAA executive committee were Stephen Haney, vice president and chief underwriting officer, ACE USA Group; Ross Fisher, vice president and general manager, The Hartford Insurance Group; and Thomas M. Kunkel, president and CEO, Bonds and Financial Products, The Travelers Companies, immediate past chair.

In addition to those companies, SFAA members elected to serve on the board are: Chartis represented by Anthony Romano, senior vice president, Surety; CNA Surety Corp. represented by John F. Welch, president and CEO; Great American Insurance Companies represented by Gary T Dunbar, president, Bonds; Hanover Insurance Companies represented by Joanne Brooks, vice president and chief risk officer; Merchants Bonding Co. represented by Larry Taylor, president; Old Republic Surety Group represented by Gerald C. Leach, president and CEO; Pennsylvania National Mutual Casualty Insurance Co. represented by Michael Greer, vice president; Selective Insurance Group, represented by Antonio Albanese, senior vice president; SureTec Insurance Co. represented by John Knox, president and CEO; Westfield Group, represented by Richard Kinnaird, senior executive, Surety and Fidelity; and Zurich Surety represented by Michael Bond, executive vice president and head of Surety.

Partner Reinsurance Co. of the U.S, represented by Richard Meyerholz, senior vice president, Specialty Lines, was elected as the reinsurance representative on the board.
