XL Group plc’s Select Professional insurance underwriting unit and Hays Affinity Solutions have teamed up to offer professional liability insurance for dentists nationwide.
“This coverage provides dentists with indispensable financial protection to safeguard their livelihoods and keep their careers moving ahead,” said Don Allard, chief underwriting officer of Select Professional, which provides E&O insurance business for small and mid-size professional service firms.
XL Group’s Greenwich Insurance Co. will provide the coverage, which is designed for dental offices with 20 or fewer dentists in the practice. The product offers limits of liability to $5 million.
Policies are available on an occurrence or claims-made basis. Available coverage options include HIPAA defense coverage, disciplinary action, medical waste legal defense, medical payment coverage, defense assistance reimbursement, military leave or disability and optional practice liability.

The Minneapolis-based Hays Affinity Solutions is the 16th largest insurance broker in the country.
