General Star Adds Risk Management Hotline to A&E Program

October 15, 2012

General Star Management Co. has launched a “design professionals liability hotline” as an enhancement to its architects & engineers program, which is handled exclusively by program administrator Professional Coverage Managers in New York. Underwritten by the Professional E&O Division, coverage is written by General Star Indemnity Co. or General Star National Insurance Co.

The Hotline services consist of two main features: pre-claims assistance and contract reviews.

Pre-claim assistance can be obtained by calling a dedicated toll-free number or via an email address, in order to deliver quick access to a sounding board to discuss problems or an incident that has already occurred. Contract reviews will focus on five categories of “hot item” clauses typically found in A&E contracts.

In addition to these two main features, policyholders can access the hotline for advice regarding risk management, claims handling, and responding to subpoenas.
