July 26, 2013

The American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS) has added three new positions to its staff.

Scott Sheldon, an auto insurance product manager who spent 13 years with GEICO, has been named vice president for auto insurance at AAIS, where he will be instrumental in developing the organization’s first auto program.

Since leaving GEICO, Sheldon has worked for Optimal Decision Group, an Australian modeling firm whose U.S. clients included three major national insurers. He also worked for the insurance arm of Countrywide Financial and for a U.S. subsidiary of Admiral Insurance, the second largest auto insurer in Great Britain. Sheldon is based in Richmond, Va.

Jeremy Teiber has been named AAIS’s new director of program integration, working with software vendors and AAIS member companies to develop rating engines and product modules designed to make it easy for companies to incorporate AAIS programs into their operations.

Teiber comes to AAIS from ICAT, a Boulder, Col.-based provider of property insurance for businesses and residential property in hurricane- and earthquake-exposed regions of the U.S. At ICAT, Teiber developed rating algorithms and maintained rating and rules for ICAT’s web portal business. Before working at ICAT, Teiber worked as a product analyst for Unitrin Direct. Teiber is based in Erie, Col.

Jarrett Cabell is AAIS’s new associate actuary. A Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, Cabell held actuarial positions with Zurich, Allstate, Midwest Employers, and CNA before coming to AAIS, where he will be concentrating on commercial lines pricing. Cabell will be based in AAIS’s headquarters in Wheaton, Ill.

AAIS is a national advisory organization that develops policy forms and rating information used by more than 700 property/casualty insurers.
