January 5, 2015

Insurance and reinsurance broker JLT Specialty Insurance Services Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc., announced the appointment of five additional specialists to its Houston-based energy risk team:

  • William Helander, most recently senior vice president, Aon
  • Wynne Sharpe, most recently senior vice president, Aon
  • Melissa Henderson, most recently vice president, Marsh
  • Lisa Harris, most recently vice president, Lockton
  • Andrew Glisson, most recently vice president, Upstream Insurance Brokers

These energy specialists are joining JLT’s existing Houston-based energy business that includes the energy business acquired from Alliant Insurance Services in October and creates what the broker said will become an industry-leading energy team.

Pat Donnelley, president and deputy CEO of JLT Specialty Insurance Services, said the “quality of individuals” JLT is attracting “demonstrates the compelling opportunity that our U.S. specialty platform offers to leading industry professionals.”

JLT has said it plans to expand significantly its U.S. specialty capabilities into the key specialty areas including Energy, Construction, Financial Lines, Credit, Political & Security and Aerospace.

Michael Rice, CEO of JLT Specialty Insurance Services Inc., said the appointments are part of that strategy of building expertise in core areas of specialty. “We see the area of energy as one in which clients are looking for specialist knowledge and expertise,” he said.

JLT said these appointments are subject to their fulfillment of existing contractual obligations.
