Insureon, an online agency for small business insurance, said it has expanded its leadership team to include Brandon Hickey as president of Insureon Brokerage and Mark Thompson as senior vice president, Product Excellence.
A 30-year veteran of the insurance industry, Hickey’s past roles include tenures as regional vice president for The Hartford Insurance Group in both New York City and Washington, D.C. In 2005, he joined small commercial and personal lines wholesaler Northeast Agencies as chief operating officer. He brings to Insureon 20 years of experience in small commercial insurance.
Thompson joins Insureon from a managing director role in PwC’s insurance advisory practice, where he worked with data and analytics. Prior to that, he held executive roles at Allstate, including a position as vice president for Product Operations at Allstate subsidiary Encompass Insurance, in which he led product development, rating plan development, pricing, and risk management for the personal lines company.
Chicago-based Insureon’s expansion follows a $31 million funding round it received in October led by Oak/HC/FT, a venture capital firm.
Insureon Holdings is headed by Ted Devine, CEO. Devine formerly served as president of Aon Risk Services, CEO of Aon Re and a senior partner and director of McKinsey & Co.
Edgar Bronfman Jr., managing partner of Accretive , a private investment firm, is chairman of Insureon’s board of directors.
