Victor O. Schinnerer & Company, an underwriting manager, has launched Schinnerer Flood – an online program offering primary insurance for commercial and residential properties through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) as well as excess coverage through the private market.
Through an online platform developed by Torrent Technologies, Schinnerer Flood allows brokers to quote primary and excess coverage in a single portal, issue a policy, view all policies in relation to flood zones, access claims data, and generate reports. With Schinnerer Flood, brokers are provided a team of flood underwriters to facilitate book transfers. Backed by the NFIP, primary coverage is issued through an exclusive carrier agreement with Homesite Insurance. Excess coverage is offered through the Lloyd’s market.
“Schinnerer Flood is designed to provide brokers with an easy to use, comprehensive tool for policy issuance and retention management to ensure their clients are financially protected from flood damage,” said Brian Hanuschak, president of Victor O. Schinnerer & Company.
Brokers must be certified to sell flood under the NFIP to gain access to the Schinnerer Flood portal. Schinnerer distributes its insurance programs through independent agents and brokers. Broker appointments are not typically required unless mandatory by state law.
