Ponderosa Insurance Agency has introduced a self-storage property and liability insurance available directly to U.S. self-storage operators that includes more coverage such as flood and California/Pacific Northwest earthquake. Ponderosa is a subsidiary of Repwest Insurance Company.
Together with its signature tenant insurance product, Safestor, the new Ponderosa Self-Storage Property and Liability Insurance Program provides protection to self-storage operators and is priced 40- to 60-percent less most other commercial policies in the self-storage market, according to the company.
Two global insurance companies provide the property and liability insurance in the program, rated as high as A++ by A.M. Best. The program’s best rates are reserved for those self-storage operators who are members of the U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer Network and U-Haul Self Storage Affiliation.
“The U-Haul Affiliation lowers a self-storage operator’s risk and exposure, and thus lowers insurance premiums,” Repwest President Doug Bell said.
Program Director Blake Johnson said the program is available to “almost any self-storage operator.”
Ponderosa has specialized in meeting tenant insurance needs since 1973 through Safestor Tenant Insurance.
