October 15, 2019

London-based specialty broker Price Forbes has launched a U.S. healthcare practice headed by market veterans Paul Voller and David Fairbank, who are joining from JLT Group.

Based out of London the practice will focus on the U.S. healthcare sector arranging insurance, captive reinsurance and treaty protection for clients, along with placements for cyber protection.

The move marks a substantial expansion of Price Forbes’ healthcare practice. Non-U.S. international healthcare will continue to be headed up by Tomer Karni, executive director.

As managing director Voller will lead the practice with Fairbank as executive director.

Voller has 45 years’ market experience and most recently served as chairman of Healthcare Risk Partners, part of JLT Group. Prior to that he was head of theHealthcare division at Lloyd & Partners.

Fairbank, who has worked with Voller for the last 25 years, also has 40 years’ market experience and was previously a senior partner at both Healthcare Risk Partners and Lloyd & Partners.

The full U.S. healthcare team includes Keeley Baker, Sirkka-Maija Kariluoma-Boom, executive assistant Kerrie McGilly and cyber marketing expert Geoff Dixon.

Voller said the healthcare liability market is an “increasingly challenging environment” for clients following years of competitive rates set against a backdrop of notable losses in the medical malpractice arena. “We are now entering a phase of hardening rates, scrutiny on retentions and coverage and capacity being managed,” he added.

Price Forbes has offices in Bermuda, Brussels, Chile, Dubai, London, South Africa and Malaysia. It became part of the Ardonagh Group in June 2017.
