Erie Insurance names diversity, equity and inclusion leader Lance Hyde to VP role

Erie Insurance has named Lance Hyde to the role of Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).

Hyde brings more than 15 years of experience in diversity and inclusion practices to the Erie, Pa.-based, company, serving as Director of Global Inclusion and Diversity at Pittsburgh-based Koppers International and in various leadership positions at EQT Corporation.

Hilb Group Names Darren Cohen Carrier Relations and Insurance Strategy Leader

The Hilb Group has appointed Darren Cohen to the new position Senior Vice President, Carrier Relations and Insurance Strategy.

Cohen came to Hilb Group, headquartered in Richmond, Va., in December 2020, when Hiram Cohen & Son Inc. joined the company. He has more than 25 years of experience and as a fourth-generation agency leader at Hiram Cohen & Son.

Westfield Specialty Names Head of Cyber/PL Claims, Signaling Expansion and Investment in E&O/Professional Liability

WestfieldPro of Westfield Specialty, headquartered in Westfield, Ohio, has named Sara Trokan as senior vice president, specialty claims. She previously served more than 17 years in financial and professional lines claims at Chubb.

In addition, Westfield Specialty has added underwriters in New York, Alpharetta and Chicago over the past few months and is expanding to the West Coast.

Magnolia Grove appoints CUO, Vice President and Senior Underwriter

Environmental specialty MGA Magnolia Grove Insurance Services announced the appointment of three senior hires, following its launch in early August.

• Richard Edwards joins Magnolia Grove as chief underwriting officer, having previously held the role of senior underwriter, environmental, at Dual North America. Prior to Dual, he worked for Westchester Environmental as a senior underwriter.
• Edwards will work alongside Kevin Fussell, who assumes the role of vice president. Fussell joins Magnolia Grove from Dual Commercial LLC where, since 2019, he held the role of senior environmental underwriter. He also spent time building his career at Colony Environmental and Westchester Environmental.
• Joliana Hodges also joins the team as senior underwriter from Dual North America, having spent close to four years building her experience in the environmental underwriting field.
