Everest Insurance Division Announces Key Leadership Appointments

Everest Insurance, the Insurance division of Everest Re Group, Ltd., has announced key appointments in its U.S. Wholesale division.

Casey Hartley has been named senior vice president and head of U.S. wholesale casualty. Prior to joining Everest in 2021, Hartley served a decade at Liberty Mutual, as well as in various roles at St. Paul Travelers.

Danielle Stewart has joined the company in the newly created role of vice president and national head of wholesale distribution. Stewart joined Everest from Liberty Mutual, most recently as director of business strategy. She will be based in Los Angeles.

Everest is headquartered in Warren, New Jersey.

Atain Insurance Names Chris Zoidis CEO

Chris Zoidis has been promoted to president and CEO of Atain Insurance Companies, a part of H.W. Kaufman Group, headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Since joining Kaufman 15 years ago, Zoidis has been instrumental in accelerating the network’s global growth and M&A strategy.

Zoidis began his career in commercial property and casualty underwriting before spending nearly a decade with Deloitte Consulting in the company’s Insurance Strategy & Operations Practice. After joining Kaufman, he oversaw the Burns & Wilcox special risk underwriting division and expert practice groups. He also is responsible for Kaufman’s overall portfolio and relationship with the London market.

As part of Atain’s leadership reorganization, the company also announced the promotion of Jessalynn Suda to Vice President.

Mark Bohac Joins SIAA as Organic Growth Coach

SIAA (Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance) named Mark Bohac as organic growth coach. In this newly created role, he will focus on helping SIAA member agencies grow their insurance premiums with Strategic Partner Companies.

Bohac began his career with MetLife Auto and Home in the Chicago market before moving to Atlanta, where he helped manage the National Sales School for captive agents. He later joined the independent agency side of the organization as Sales Training Team Manager before moving on to National Accounts. There he took on responsibility for growing the SIAA account. In that role, he oversaw SIAA’s exceptional MetLife growth, from an initial $5M of total written premium (TWP) to nearly $200M in TWP.

Brown & Brown Expands Analytics Team

Brown & Brown has expanded its team, adding Hamzeh Gol-Zaroudi as a senior catastrophe modeling analyst plus Scott Kaminski, Caleb Blodgett and Thomas Scott as analytics and research & development (R&D) actuaries.

  • Gol-Zaroudi works as a senior CAT modeling analyst and is focused on property and energy team initiatives, specifically technical risk quantification research and exposure data strategy. Prior to joining Brown & Brown, Gol-Zaroudi worked in research and modeling. He is a licensed structural engineer (SE), a licensed professional civil engineer (PE) and a certified event modeler (CEEM).
  • Kaminski joins as a research actuary on the team and will focus on risk quantification R&D projects in cyber, D&O and non-CAT property. Before joining Brown & Brown, Kaminski worked over 20 years in financial reporting, predictive modeling, reserving and commercial lines pricing on the carrier side.
  • Blodgett works as a research actuary specializing in risk modeling for cyber liability. Before Brown & Brown, Blodgett worked at an insurance carrier in various data science and actuarial roles, including pricing, analytics and predictive modeling.
  • Scott also works as a research actuary on the team, specializing in property and D&O risk modeling. Prior to joining Brown & Brown, he worked at an insurance carrier in a variety of actuarial and analytical roles.

Brown & Brown Names Matthew Siciliani As EVP, Healthcare Growth Officer

Brown & Brown has named Matthew Siciliani as executive vice president, healthcare growth officer of its healthcare team. Siciliani will work out of the Sacramento office. Siciliani brings over 25 years of experience in providing risk financing solutions to healthcare organizations nationwide.

Prior to joining Brown & Brown, Siciliani served as senior vice president of Underwriting and Business Development for Premier Insurance Management Services, Inc. and The American Excess Insurance Exchange, a Reciprocal RRG (AEIX). Before that, he spent 16 years with the Doctor’s Management Company as an underwriting officer.
