Zurich North America names new U.S. Middle Market industry practice leaders

Zurich North America has named two new industry practice leaders to its U.S. Middle Market team.

Erin Terpack was appointed head of technology and manufacturing. Terpack joins Zurich from Sompo International, where she served as regional underwriting executive. Previously, she held leadership positions at Chubb, including vice president, commercial insurance manager and assistant vice president, underwriting manager.

Katie Daly was appointed head of real estate, retail, hospitality and wholesale. Daly joins Zurich from The Hanover Group, where she served most recently as product director for general liability and umbrella, responsible for product delivery to eight business units. Previously, she was the director of middle market for the Carolinas, where she developed and implemented line of business and industry strategy to grow branch profitability.

FM Global names Ziad Alex S. Tadmoury to head its global middle market division, AFM

FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial property insurers, has appointed Ziad Alex S. Tadmoury as senior vice president, division manager of AFM, which specializes in insuring middle market clients around the world.

Tadmoury was previously senior vice president and FM Global’s Asia Pacific division manager based in Singapore. He will be based at AFM’s corporate offices in Johnston, Rhode Island, and succeeds Gerry L. Alonso who retired in July 2022 after 37 years of service with FM Global.

Tadmoury joined FM Global in 1989 as a reinsurance claims analyst and eventually became deputy director of FM Global’s construction and international power units, based in London, and operations senior vice president, operations manager based in Paris.

In 2012, Tadmoury served as interim president and CEO of Hobbs Brook Management and operations senior vice president, compliance and real estate. He assumed his most recent role in 2019. Tadmoury’s experience outside of FM Global includes roles with Hannover Re in Athens, Greece.

Gallagher Re recruits Andrew Robertson in North America as Executive Vice President

Gallagher Re, the global reinsurance broker, has appointed Andrew Robertson to the role of executive vice president in North America.

Robertson will be based in Stamford, Connecticut, and brings over 35 years’ industry experience to Gallagher Re. He will support all aspects of the reinsurance broking business, notably the alternative distribution vertical, which includes the expanding MGA Practice.

Robertson joins from Swiss Re, where he held the position of vice president – client markets and has spent the past 16 years in direct client-facing roles. Prior to Swiss Re, he held underwriting and client management roles at GE Insurance and Munich Re, having also worked as a P&C treaty reinsurance underwriter and in London as a Lloyd’s broker.

Gallagher Re continues investment in global cyber practice with expansion of North American team

Gallagher Re, the global reinsurance broker, is expanding its cyber specialism in North America with a team of cyber brokers and actuaries that will replicate their successful model developed in London.

Jasper Goring will head up the cyber reinsurance hub in New York. Goring, who joined Gallagher Re’s dedicated cyber reinsurance team in 2018, will lead and grow the broker’s on-the-ground cyber reinsurance specialism to enhance support for NA-based clients, look to expand cyber capacity provision and facilitate the effective deployment of capital into the cyber space to meet the fast-rising demand across all parts of the insurance value chain.

Ryan Wilkins joins Gallagher Re’s now 50-strong global cyber team as a cyber reinsurance actuary based in New York to build out its dedicated cyber analytics function while working closely with Gallagher Re’s broader actuarial team in New York, and Justyna Pikinska, Gallagher Re’s head of cyber analytics in London. Wilkins joins Gallagher Re from Google where he was an actuary in its business risk and insurance function and had previously worked as an actuary for Guy Carpenter.
