Marshall & Sterling Names New Senior Leadership Team

Marshall & Sterling Enterprises, Inc., has appointed Eric Diamond as chief executive officer. Prior to joining Marshall & Sterling in 2009, Diamond was president of JS Diamond Group, Inc., overseeing business development, administration and marketing. He most recently served as president of Marshall & Sterling’s employee benefits for 12 years. Diamond also serves on Marshall & Sterling Enterprises board of directors.

Diamond replaces former president & CEO Tim Dean, who retired earlier this year after 14 years in the position and 37 years with Marshall & Sterling. Dean now assumes the role of chair of the board replacing outgoing chair John O’Shea, who has been with Marshall & Sterling for over 67 years.

O’Shea joined Marshall & Sterling in 1955 and was president and CEO of the company from 1980 to 2005. O’Shea will continue to advise Marshall & Sterling leadership about the company’s direction as “chairman emeritus,” and chair the company’s charitable giving committee, which he helped create several years ago.

Jim Dahoney, currently the company’s senior vice president and chief information officer, has been promoted to the role of chief operating officer. Dahoney has been with Marshall & Sterling for 32 years.

Marshall & Sterling is headquartered in Poughkeepsie, New York, with offices in New York, California, Michigan, Florida, Virginia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Trium Cyber Names Industry Veteran Rock Chief Claims Officer

Trium Cyber, a Lloyd’s of London cyber insurance specialist, has appointed David Rock as chief claims officer of its U.S.-based services company. Rock and the Trium management team are based in the United States, focused on servicing the U.S. market, and are headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Rock will oversee Trium Cyber’s claims practice, guiding clients through complex first and third-party matters.

Rock comes to Trium from Allied World, where he most recently served as North American head of cyber and E&O claims. In addition to creating and managing Allied World’s cyber response practice, he had broad oversight for all professional lines claims.

Nexus Underwriting U.S. Announces Darlea as AVP Product Recall for U.S. Specialty Casualty Division

Specialty managing general agent Nexus Underwriting has appointed Justin Darlea as assistant vice president product recall in their specialty casualty business. The company is headquartered in Morristown, New Jersey.

Darlea joins Nexus Underwriting U.S. from Starr Insurance Companies, where he was regional underwriting manager and crisis management and was responsible for a significant portfolio for the last five years. Prior to this, Darlea was a product recall broker at Marsh & McLennan Companies and an underwriting assistant at Morstan General Agency. He began his insurance career at Munich Re America.
