People Moves: The Hartford Names Deane Chief Claims Officer; Hric Named Inshur’s Director of US Markets; Rokstone Appoints Nukk Head of Marine

The Hartford said Stephen Deane will return to the company as chief claims officer effective Nov. 6 after he spent the last three years at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he served as executive vice president and chief claims officer, Global Risk Solutions, North America.

Prior to Liberty Mutual, Deane was at The Hartford for 16 years in various leadership roles, including senior vice president of Group Benefits and Workers’ Compensation claims. He will report to John Kinney, head of claims and operations, and will be a member of The Hartford’s executive leadership team.

Deane succeeds Mary Nasenbenny, who will retire at the end of 2023. Nasenbenny joined the company in 1999 as legal counsel and was named chief claims officer in 2021.

Hric Named Inshur’s Director of US Markets

Inshur, a provider of insurance to the rideshare industry, announced the appointment of Lisa Hric as director of US markets. She is tasked with leading Inshur’s nationwide expansion and further bolstering the profitability of its portfolio.

Prior to joining Inshur, Hric was senior director of insurance product management at Metromile, where she oversaw the company’s $100 million private passenger auto portfolio. Hric also played a crucial role in integrating the Metromile product management team into the Lemonade structure post-acquisition, which will help inform Inshur’s ongoing integration efforts with American Business Insurance Solutions (ABI).

Hric also has insurance experience at Farmers, The Hartford, and Progressive.

Rokstone Appoints Nukk Head of Marine

Rokstone appointed Mike Nukk as head of marine. Nukk was previously head of marine for North America at American International Group (AIG) for about five years. The appointment comes just one week after Rokstone appointed Jordan Lanford, also previously at AIG, head of aviation.

At Rokstone, Nukk will grow the marine portfolio in North America from a start up to $100 million in five years, focused on middle market North American business.

Nukk has more than 20 years of experience in marine. Before AIG he spent 20 years at Liberty Mutual, serving as its SVP Global Marine Practice Leader and Marine Chief Underwriting Officer. He spent 7 of his 20 years with Liberty working in London as VP Marine, EMEA at Liberty Special Markets.
