Markel, the insurance operations within Markel Group Inc., said Bob Cox, president and chief operating officer, Global Insurance Operations, will be leaving his role December 31, after five years .
“Bob joined us five years ago bringing his more than 35 years of insurance leadership experience to lead efforts on accelerating our strategies to deliver the best value and services for our customers across the globe,” said Jeremy Noble, president. “He has built a strong foundation to position us for long-term, profitable growth, including evolving our products, broadening our distribution channels, and enhancing our global operations. We are grateful for his leadership and contributions to Markel.”
Cox joined Markel in 2018 to oversee Markel’s global insurance operations—its Markel Specialty and Markel International divisions.
With Cox’s departure, its Markel Specialty and International insurance divisions will report directly to Noble. Simon Wilson, president Markel International, Alex Martin, president, Markel Specialty, and Bryan Sanders, chairman, Markel Specialty, will report to Noble effective December 31.
Siry Joins Cover Whale as COO, CTO
Cover Whale Insurance Solutions, Inc. hired Darryl Siry as chief operating and technology officer.
Before joining Cover Whale, Siry most recently served as chief technology officer at SiriusPoint. Prior to that, he was chief technology and operations officer at ProSight Specialty Insurance. He also held executive positions at Tesla Motors and Fireman’s Fund/Allianz.
Glazer Named General Counsel of AIG
American International Group, Inc. (AIG) said Rose Marie Glazer, who has served as interim general counsel since October 1, has been named general counsel, overseeing AIG’s legal, compliance, regulatory and government affairs functions.
Glazer remains an executive vice president reporting to Peter Zaffino, AIG Chairman and CEO, and a member of AIG’s Executive Leadership Team. Most recently, Glazer served as AIG’s chief human resources & diversity officer since January 1, 2022.
Patricia Walsh, who had previously been announced as joining AIG, has recently decided to remain at Stripe, Inc.
