Church Mutual Insurance Company, S.I. promoted Alan S. Ogilvie from president to president and chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1, 2024.
Ogilvie assumed the role from Rich Poirier, who has retired after 12 years of service to the company.
Ogilvie held positions at Wausau Insurance Companies, Caliber One Indemnity, Godfrey & Kahn S.C. and Capitol Insurance Companies before joining Merrill, Wisconsin-based Church Mutual in 2015. He was named president of CM Vantage Specialty Insurance Company, a national excess and surplus lines insurer, in 2016. He was promoted to president – subsidiaries in February 2020, promoted to executive vice president and president – subsidiaries in May 2021 and promoted to president of Church Mutual in January 2023.
Ogilvie has been a member of the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA)’s Executive Advisory and Legal and Government Affairs committees, the Wisconsin Insurance Security Fund board of directors, the Wisconsin Insurance Alliance board of directors, and the Wisconsin Property and Casualty Advisory Council.
World Insurance Associates Hires Klien as EVP
World Insurance Associates LLC, headquartered in Iselin, N.J., hired Joe Klein as an executive vice president of its national accounts practice.
Klein, based in Chicago, comes to World with more than 35 years of leadership experience at broking giant Aon Risk Services, where he was most recently managing director and strategic account executive. Before Aon, he was a senior property and inland marine underwriter at American Home Assurance Company (AIG), and before that, he was a property underwriter at Industrial Risk Insurers (IRI).
Amwins Appoints Armijo President of Amwins Underwriting
Amwins, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., appointed Ryan Armijo president of Amwins Underwriting. Armijo takes over the role from Bob Petrilli, who is retiring after serving as president since August 2018.
Previously, Armijo served as chief operating officer of Amwins Underwriting. Before joining the underwriting division, Ryan was vice president at Amwins Access.
