People Moves: AXIS Appoints Tan Head of Wholesale Casualty; Fiato Named Allstate Chief Claims Officer; Schoberth to Lead Canopius US Distribution

AXIS Capital Holdings Limited named Anna Tan as head of wholesale casualty.

Tan joins AXIS from Navigators, a brand of The Hartford, where she served for over 12 years, most recently as head of excess casualty. Before this, she spent almost eight years at Starr Insurance Companies in underwriting and management positions.

Fiato Named Allstate Chief Claims Officer

Allstate named Mike Fiato as executive vice president and chief claims officer, effective Jan. 22.

Fiato joins Northbrook, Illinois-based Allstate with more than 32 years of industry experience. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and chief claims and service officer for Liberty Mutual’s U.S. consumer claims organization. Before joining Liberty Mutual in 2017, Fiato worked at Progressive, serving as general manager of their Midwest region.

Canopius Appoints Schoberth Head of US Distribution

Specialty insurer Canopius Group announced the appointment of Uwe Schoberth as head of distribution in the U.S. and Bermuda. Effective immediately, Schoberth will assume this newly created role and join the Canopius U.S. Executive Committee.

Schoberth brings over 30 years of experience in the insurance sector. He joins Canopius having most recently served as chief distribution officer at insurtech Joyn Insurance.
