Zurich N.A. Hires AIG’s Hattauer to Head Financial Lines

Nora Hattauer

Zurich North America hired Nora Hattauer as head of financial lines for Zurich’s U.S. national accounts and middle market businesses. Hattauer officially starts her role at Zurich on Oct. 21.

Based in Atlanta, Hattauer will be responsible for the direction, management and performance of Zurich’s Financial Lines strategic business unit.

Hattauer most recently served as head of management liability for national accounts at AIG, where she worked for nearly 19 years in various management roles within its financial lines unit. She also served as chief underwriting officer of the public company segments and regional underwriting manager. Prior to AIG, she held underwriting roles at Chubb and the St. Paul Companies.

Aon Promotes Leaders Within its US Financial Services Group

Anna Digel

Aon promoted Anna Digel to chief broking officer for Aon’s U.S. financial services group (FSG). Collin Breeney and Joe Reynolds have been promoted to co-leaders for the greater New York region, also for Aon’s U.S. FSG.

Kary Trocchia was promoted to lead the east region and Jay Sherwin to lead in the Mountain West.

Digel leads broking operations, which includes strategic collaboration with Aon Inpoint and Aon’s broking hubs in Bermuda and London.

Breeney oversees the public company commercial team in New York. He entered Aon as an intern in 2013 before joining the FSG practice and has remained there for his entire tenure at the firm.

Joseph Reynolds

Reynolds leads the public company financial institutions operations in New York. He joined Aon in 2007 and previously led the team in New York building Aon’s financial institutions client portfolio.

Jay Sherwin

Sherwin, U.S. FSG leader of the firm’s mountain/west region, is responsible for Aon’s teams in Denver and Dallas, overseeing insurance companies and agents and broker-dealer errors and omissions operations.

Marsh Names Thomas-Ferrand Head of Captive Insurance

William Thomas-Ferrand

Marsh, a business of Marsh McLennan headquartered in New York City, named Will Thomas-Ferrand as head of captive insurance beginning January 1, 2025. Thomas-Ferrand currently serves as the international practice leader of Marsh Captive Solutions. He will report to Pat Donnelly, Marsh Specialty and Global Placement president and remain based in London.

A 20-year veteran of the firm, Thomas-Ferrand has held various roles, including leadership of Marsh’s captive business in Malta and seven years largely working with U.S. clients in Bermuda.

Ellen Charnley, current president of Marsh Captive Solutions, will retire at the end of 2024.
