IIAT Launches Tool to Connect Independent Agents With Homeowners

October 18, 2002

The Independent Insurance Agents of Texas announced it now offers homeowners a new online resource for finding independent insurance agencies that are actively writing homeowners insurance policies. The resource, called “FIND AN AGENT,” is available free on the IIAT Web site at www.iiat.org.

“IIAT’s new FIND AN AGENT search tool is designed to help homeowners find independent agencies specifically ready, willing and able to write new homeowners policies,” said David VanDelinder, IIAT executive director. “We believe this search tool is fast, easy to use and offers the best information of its kind.”

The most powerful feature of FIND AN AGENT is that it can list only those independent agencies ready to write homeowners insurance. “By giving a homeowner the option of seeing only agencies writing homeowners policies, we have virtually eliminated the time wasted searching through a list of all agencies,” explained VanDelinder.

“Because independent insurance agencies represent several different insurance companies, these agencies are in the best position to advise consumers about finding the homeowners insurance that is best for them,” he added.

Using the search tool is easy. Consumers can select either independent agencies writing homeowners insurance or a complete list of IIAT member independent agencies by city or ZIP Code. The results include agency name; phone numbers; and mail, physical and Web addresses.

The IIAT Web site includes a number of valuable resources for consumers shopping for homeowners insurance including a series of tips to help shoppers get the best deal,” said VanDelinder.
