Argonaut Group Inc., based in San Antonio, announced the appointment of Dale H. Pilkington as president of Colony Insurance Group, the company’s Excess and Surplus (E&S) lines operation. Watson III, president and chief executive officer of Argonaut Group Inc. “He will have the opportunity to put his considerable leadership skills to work in continuing the momentum and growth that we are experiencing. Dale will also be able to build on a strong management team that delivers consistent, profitable underwriting strategies.”

In his decade-long tenure with the company, Pilkington has been responsible for overseeing the development of the specialty divisions as well as for the primary General Contract/Binding Business and Industrial Brokerage. A 24-year veteran of the insurance industry, he served as executive vice president for Crump London Underwriting Services and assistant secretary in the Casualty Facultative Division of General Reinsurance Corporation’s Atlanta branch.
