International insurance brokerage and consulting company Summit Global Partners named Daryl Martin president/CEO of Summit Global Partners branch operations in Austin, Texas. Martin specializes in providing strategic advice and customized insurance coverages for risks faced in the health care industry, manufacturing, technology and other complex business enterprises.

“Certain businesses face multiple risks that require considerable knowledge and understanding to design the right coverages,” said Gary Griffith, SGP’s chairman and CEO. “The addition of Daryl Martin enables us to offer our broad array of products and services to a greater variety of companies in Central Texas.”

Martin joins SGP from Aon Risk Services where he was managing director of its national health care practice. Previously, he served large customer accounts in diverse industries while managing Aon’s risk management practice in its Baltimore office. He also headed Aon’s health care practice in the Northeast, including the Baltimore-Washington area. Martin was corporate counsel/director of professional liability and risk management for Sedgwick, followed by his appointment as managing executive of Sedgwick’s Nashville office. Earlier in his career, he was corporate counsel for Alexander & Alexander. Martin succeeds Jack Wagner, who has assumed the presidency of Summit Global Partners – Dallas.

“In Austin, we have developed long-term relationships with customers by providing strategic advice that helps them manage complex risks,” said Martin. “We are well positioned to build on that success by helping companies in industries outside our existing significant customer bases in construction and technology.”

Launched in 1997, the Austin office, located at 8900 Shoal Creek, employs over 30 brokers, risk management and benefit consultants and support personnel.
