Horne Takes Over as EVP at Southwest Business Corp.

Southwest Business Corporation (SWBC), a San Antonio-based insurance and financial services provider, named David Horne as executive vice president and chief administrative officer.

“We have known David for a long time and have followed his successful career. He has many years of experience serving in key leadership roles in fast-paced and growing business environments like SWBC,” Charlie Amato, chairman of SWBC, said.

In his new position, Horne will provide executive leadership in all aspects of administration, as well as be actively involved in SWBC’s strategic development and community outreach.

Horne brings a wealth of experience, including more than 20 years as the executive responsible for organizational development, human resources management, support services and administration. Prior to joining SWBC, Horne co-founded and served as chief operations officer for Orbis Online, a technology services company.

“David will be ‘coming home’ in a sense because he spent nine years as an officer with U.S. Long Distance (USLD), a very successful and rapidly growing company located in the same building that now bears the SWBC logo,” explained Gary Dudley, president of SWBC.

Amato said he and Dudley first became acquainted with Horne and his abilities in the 1990s, when Amato served on USLD’s board of directors.

“We are excited about David’s proven leadership skills, his executive experience, and his ability to further develop the talent we already have here at SWBC,” Amato stated.
