The American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) recently awarded Pamela L. Popp, vice president of the Healthcare Practice for McQueary Henry Bowles Troy L.L.P. (MHBT) in Dallas and Fort Worth, the designation of ASHRM Distinguished Fellow.
This award recognizes individuals for their superior achievement of professional excellence in the healthcare risk management profession.
Popp was one of three Distinguished Fellows recognized at ASHRM’s annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.
Popp was also recently elected president of ASHRM for 2005 at the organization’s annual meeting. Prior to joining MHBT, Popp was vice president for claims management and insurance with Team Health in Knoxville, Tenn. She has been active in ASHRM’s education initiatives and is a board member of the American Hospital Association’s Certification Center.
ASHRM’s Professional Recognition Program was created to promote and formally acknowledge individual achievement of professional excellence in the healthcare risk management field. Distinguished Fellows must successfully meet criteria in the areas of academic/professional designations, continuing education, employment experience and contributions to the field of healthcare risk management through leadership, lecturing and publishing.
