Austin-Based Central Texas Agency Alliance Adds Two Master Territories

February 8, 2005

Austin, Texas-based Central Texas Agency Alliance has purchased two additional exclusive Master Agency territories from the Strategic Independent Agents Alliance of Hampton, N.H. CTAA is a division of AIC- Sun Belt Group Inc.

Bill Lunsford is the principal and Steve Crownover manages the Master Agency Network. CTAA represents several SIAA Strategic Partner companies including The Hartford, Safeco, St. Paul/Travelers and Zurich.

SIAA has 210 exclusive, Master Agency territories throughout 48 U.S. states and Canada with more than 1,600 independent insurance agencies with more than $3,500,000,000 in premium volume serving more than 3 million insurance customers.

“CTAA wanted to expand our base from an urban network of agents to more of a rural network of agents,” Lunsford said. “So many rural agents have had to settle for brokerage arrangements just to have a market where they get less commission and limited access to markets.

“The SIAA concept gives the small agent the ability to take control of their business, be able to grow and prosper and have a future,” he said. East central Texas is a great place for CTAA to expand and we are very excited about the opportunity we can provide for agents in this territory.”

“Many of our Master Agencies are acquiring additional exclusive territories as they see the proven value of the SIAA Model Profit Center,” Jim Masiello, SIAA chairman explains. “Inordinate income and agency value increases are enjoyed by their retail agencies. In 2004, 11 existing Master Agencies acquired 16 additional territories.
