McQueary Henry Bowles Troy Opens Austin Office

April 13, 2005

McQueary Henry Bowles Troy L.L.P (MHBT), one of the largest privately-owned, independent insurance brokerages in the nation, announced the opening of a new office in Austin, Texas.

The new MHBT location will immediately be staffed with 17 employees serving clients’ employee benefits needs. With the addition, MHBT strengthens one of the leading employee benefits practices for commercial clients in Texas.

The new MHBT Austin employees were formerly associated with the Frost Insurance Agency in Austin.

“Our employee benefits team, which includes Jared Moss, Judy Scott and Todd Patch, saw a wonderful opportunity to join one of the top insurance agencies in Texas,” said Keith Carmichael, president of MHBT Austin. “We are extremely honored that a firm with the stature and reputation of MHBT would show an interest in our group. MHBT’s culture, strong business acumen and excellent customer service were important factors in our decision.”

MHBT expects the new location to grow quickly over the next six months into a full-service MHBT office, including property and casualty insurance, risk management and financial services practices. With the new location and 17 additional employees, MHBT now has 180 employees in its combined Dallas, Fort Worth and Austin offices.

“We are extremely pleased to have this talented group of individuals join MHBT,” said Bill Henry, chairman and CEO of MHBT. “This expansion to Austin made sense to us for several reasons: the availability of professionals whose culture and work ethic were a fit with ours; the opportunity to better serve our clients with Austin locations; and the overall importance of the Austin market in Texas. We’re pleased that MHBT continues to grow, and we believe that growth is a testament to our culture of consistently putting clients first while treating our employees with dignity and respect.”

MHBT is based in Dallas and also has an office in Fort Worth, Texas. MHBT and its precursors have offered global insurance, bonds and financial services since 1926. The firm offers commercial risk management and insurance services, employee benefits and financial services, construction bond services, property and casualty insurance, personal insurance and surety and specialized services.
