The University of Texas at Austin scholarship recipients were Jeffrey Herbert, Melissa Hall, Nikhil Sharma, Roger Shen and Keyan Marashi. Patricia Arnold, of the U.T. McCombs School of Business, remarked that her scholarship recipients were the cream of the crop in her class.

All of the scholarship recipients were asked to write why they should receive a scholarship from ICT. Rosalinda Olivares-Scott of Baylor said she looked forward to graduating and getting a job to help offer financial assistance to her unemployed father and younger sister who is battling cancer.

Olivares-Scott wrote, “My overall goal and purpose for attending college is to help change the lifestyle of my family. Thank you so much for your desire to make a difference in the lives of college students. I appreciate the efforts of the Insurance Council of Texas, and the active role the Council is taking in providing opportunities for the future leaders of America.”

The Insurance Council of Texas remains committed to helping students in higher education learn more of the intricacies of insurance through the financial assistance of scholarships such as these.
