La.-based First Premium Insurance Group Inc., a growing regional property and casualty insurance broker, introduced its newest team member, Debbie Harrington. Harrington joined the First Premium staff as a commercial underwriter and she will be assisting with the marketing of programs.
Announcing Harrington’s appointment, Ricky Jenkins, president of First Premium, stated: “We are extremely excited to have Debbie on board at First Premium Insurance Group. She will be instrumental in continuing the growth of FPIG. She has a diverse and sound underwriting background. She has been involved with many insurance related organizations and is well respected in our industry.”
Harrington comes to First Premium from a national MGA/Broker where she worked for many years as an underwriter/broker handling general liability, auto liability, umbrellas, property, professional liability, EPLI and other lines of commercial business.
She is a member of the National Association of Insurance Women, where she serves as the treasurer of the New Orleans Chapter and she is the president of the Young Insurance Professionals organization. Harrington has obtained her CPIW and DAE designations and is currently working on her CPCU, AU and CIC designations. Debbie has completed INS 21, 22 and 23, AU 61 and 65, CPCU – 4 and CIC-Property.
