Universal Insurance Company of Texas Adds Staff

Universal Insurance Holdings of North America announced it has added new members to the Universal Insurance Company of Texas (UICTX) team, based in San Antonio.

Katherine Moore, vice president of Texas operations for UICTX states, “We are proud to welcome Kelly McAllen, Shelley Crain, and Clayton Lee to our company. Their phenomenal leadership abilities, coupled with their local market knowledge, will provide our customers with the highest level of security and customer satisfaction. We are very excited about having them on board.”

Kelly L. McAllen, agency relations specialist, is strategically involved with agency development and training. Her industry perspective is woven from positions with independent agencies, national carriers and brokerages throughout the state of Texas. McAllen currently holds a property/casualty license and the designation of Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR).

Shelley D. Crain, underwriting manager, has full underwriting responsibility for Texas personal lines products, manages policy processing and underwriting, and does financial and market analysis. Her primary role is to communicate changes in underwriting guidelines, rates, rules, and regulations and to provide training to operations.

Over the years, Crain’s career has encompassed a variety of positions including claims, policy service, underwriting, and project management. She has been a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter since 2001.

Clayton R. Lee, marketing manager, is heavily involved in the company’s marketing strategy including market evaluation, definition, and the appointment, development, and management of independent agents throughout the state.

Lee began his insurance career in 1982 where, over the years, he has been responsible for all aspects of premium production, e-commerce and the MGA relationships for the southern half of Texas. Lee is a Certified Insurance Counselor, a Registered Financial Consultant, and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow.
