Brodbeck Named Trusted Choice Hometown Hero in Texas

April 28, 2011

The Indpendent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) has named Randy Brodbeck of the Adams Insurance Agency in Johnson City as its newest Trusted Choice Hometown Hero. The Hometown Hero program recognizes Trusted Choice insurance agents who go above and beyond to help their communities.

A well-known community fixture in his hometown of Johnson City, Brodbeck’s vast resume of community volunteerism is a testament to his commitment to serving others.

In 1995, Brodbeck was elected to the Johnson City School Board and became board president in 1998, a position he holds to this day.

In 2003 Brodbeck was instrumental in garnering support for a $10-million bond election. The funds were used to renovate school facilities and build a new high school in Johnson City.

In addition to his work on the school board, Brodbeck also helps kids outside of the classroom. He has been active in the Johnson City Little League since 1983. Brodbeck started as a coach and soon became the Johnson City Little League president, a position which he held for a decade until 1994. He was instrumental in building the first Little League baseball field in Johnson City – the field has subsequently been renamed in his honor.

Brodbeck has also been president of North Blanco County EMS since 2005, having been a member since 1982. Currently, he is serving on the Johnson City Planning and Zoning Committee. He even finds time to announce at various youth athletic events.

In 1994, Brodbeck was the recipient of the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen of the Year award.

“To be chosen from a large field of deserving individuals was indeed an honor. I get personal satisfaction in joining other civic-minded people from our small city to accomplish our missions. I only wish I had more time to assist others in reaching their goals,” Brodbeck said.
